The mission of the Native American House, a part of the division of Student Affairs, is to provide programs and support services promoting student success. In alignment with our mission to foster a supportive environment for all members of our university community, Student Affairs’ units, departments and their related activities are open to all eligible persons regardless of race, color or national origin.
Since its founding in 2002, the Native American House (NAH) mission has been to create an empowering university context for Native students by promoting cultural, familial, and place-based relationships as unique factors that facilitate Native student success. In keeping with its historical legacy, the NAH strives to positively impact the educational and development outcomes of Native students by fostering a sense of belonging, nurturing wellbeing, and encouraging retention through engagement, academic support, and advocacy. In collaboration with campus and community partners, NAH works to cultivate a more nuanced understanding of Indigenous cultures and communities as they exist today through our annual events and programming.
The NAH welcomes all, while centering the voices and lived experiences of Native and Indigenous Peoples.
